
News Edition 24 Desk: It’s heartening news for all. LPG cylinder rates will be updated on June 1. Often, on the first of the month, petroleum companies selling LPG gas cylinders update the rate of LPG (LPG Latest Rate).
On May 1, 2023, the commercial cylinder became cheaper by about Rs 172, but there was no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinder. If we talk about the tenure of the Modi government, then on June 1, 2014, the price of non-subsidized LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 905 per cylinder. And the price of subsidized LPG cylinder was Rs 414. It is a different matter that then it was difficult to get connection of LPG cylinder. If we leave aside the matter of subsidy, the price of domestic cylinder has increased by only Rs 198 in these nine years, but it is more expensive than Rs 700 in today’s date for the subsidy holders.
On May 26, the Modi government completed nine years in power at the Centre. Narendra Modi’s first term as Prime Minister continues from May 2014 to 2019 and the second from 2019 till now. During these two tenures, it will be seen that how much effect was there on the price of LPG cylinder. The base of analysis will be May 2014 prices. On May 1, 2023, the price of domestic LPG cylinder was Rs 1103 in Delhi and it is still available at the same rate today. According to Indian Oil data, the same cylinder without subsidy was costing Rs 928.50 in Delhi on May 1, 2014. That means an increase of only Rs 174.50 in a total of nine years.
