Bangladesh aircraft stranded at Raipur airport for 8 years to auctioned soon.

Parking charge amounts 3.25 crores.

Raipur : Bangladeshi aircraft had been standing at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur for the last 8 years. In these 8 years, the parking charges has reached about 3.25 crore. It’s learnt that measures are being initiated to auction to auction the aircraft by the Raipur Airport Authority. The airport authority has issued a notice to the Bangladesh company. The response of the auction company is awaited. At the same time, discussions are being held on behalf of the airport authority with its legal advisors in this regard. Raipur Airport Director Praveen Jain said that the process of auction will be started as soon as the response of the Bangladeshi company comes.


According to the information received, on August 7, 2015, the MD 83 aircraft developed a fault while going from Dhaka to Muscat with 173 passengers. In emergency, the landing of this aircraft was done at Raipur airport and on the next day the passengers were sent by another aircraft. Since then this Bangladeshi aircraft is standing at Raipur airport only.


Letters written more than 70 times..

It’s learnt that in the year 2019, the experts of Bangladeshi Aviation Company had reached Raipur and they had moved this aircraft 300 meters. Those experts had said that the plane would be taken as soon as possible. Raipur Airport Authority has written more than 70 letters to the Bangladeshi company since 2015. Along with this emails have been sent. This time the Raipur Airport Authority has issued a notice to the Bangladeshi company regarding the auction and the response of the company is awaited.
