Raipur. 7 police officers from Chhattisgarh will be honoured with President’s Gallantry Medals. The gallantry medal will be awarded at the Independence Day celebrations on 15th August. IPS Abhishek Pallav, RI Vaibhav Mishra, SI Ashwani Sinha, SI Yashwant Shyam, ASI Usaru Ram Kurram and Inspector Uttam Kumar, along with martyr APC Krishnapal Singh Kushwaha will be awarded the gallantry medal posthumously.
These awards were announced on 26 January. The Police Headquarters has issued a letter to all the officers directing them to be present at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur on August 15. It may be mentioned that the gallantry medal is awarded to military personnel for acts of gallantry in dangerous situations and it is a matter of pride for the state that 7 police officers of Chhattisgarh have been awarded this medal. Vaibhav Mishra is currently posted as Inspector in Raipur Police Line. IPS Abhishek Pallav is currently posted in district Kabirdham after being transferred from Durg.
Martyr Krishnapal Singh Kushwaha was killed in an encounter with Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Jheeram Valley. Krishnapal Singh had joined SAF in the year 1995 from Bhilai.
