IAS Ranu Sahu sent to jail on judicial remand for 10 days..

Raipur. The court has sent IAS Ranu Sahu, arrested in the coal scam, to jail on judicial remand for 10 days. The court has now ordered Ranu Sahu to be produced on August 4. Ranu Sahu, who was arrested on Saturday, was taken on three-day remand by the ED. On completion of the remand period, the ED produced her in the court of Special Judge Ajay Singh Rajput this afternoon. There was no demand for remand from the ED again. Because of this, the court ordered Ranu Sahu to be sent directly to jail.


According to sources, from Saturday evening till this morning, the ED team was continuously questioning IAS Ranu Sahu. ED has questioned Ranu Sahu regarding the diary and mobile chat seized during the raids. It is being told that ED has asked Ranu Sahu more than 20 questions. These questions also include to whom the amount of coal scam was delivered or distributed. The ED has also questioned Ranu Sahu, her IAS husband JP Maurya and their maternal uncles regarding their acquired assets and sources of income.


It may be mentioned that ED raided the official residence of Ranu Sahu in Devendra Nagar on Friday. After nearly twenty-four hours of investigation, the ED arrested her on Saturday morning and produced her in the court and asked for 14-day remand, but the court granted the remand for only three days.
It may also be mentioned that four officers including two IAS and 10 other people have been arrested in this case. Ranu Sahu is the second IAS officer to be arrested in this case. Sameer Bishnoi, who was arrested before her, is currently lodged in Raipur Central Jail.
