The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Thursday said it has attached movable and immovable assets worth Rs 11.35 crore of Pratap Kumar Samal, former deputy manager of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC), his wife Sasmita Samal and their son Pritam Kumar Samal in a disproportionate assets case.

The ED initiated probe under the PMLA on the basis of an FIR registered by the Vigilance Police Station, Bhubaneswar, against Pratap and his wife Sasmita under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act for amassing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 14.88 crore.

An official said, investigation under PMLA has revealed that Pratap acquired the properties through corruption and acquired the properties in the name of his family members, concealed and kept it to conceal its original source and accordingly siphoned off the money. committed the offense of laundering.
