Raipur: Former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma, son Harish and his two other associates, who were involved in the 2500 crore scam in Chhattisgarh, will be questioned at the ED office today on 30 December.
It may be mentioned that ED had summoned all of them after raiding more than half a dozen of their locations on Saturday. In this raid, ED officials have seized many paper and digital evidence. This includes mobile phones of all of them.
ED officers have decoded the seized mobile with the help of cyber experts yesterday, Sunday, throughout the day. And today, interrogation will be done on that basis. ED officers will inquire about Kawasi’s share in the scam amount and his investment through his son, Sukma Municipality Chairman Jagannath Raju Sahu, contractor Rajbhuvan Bhadoria or distribution to someone else.
CG liquor scam: Let us tell you that ED has said in its earlier ECIR that Kawasi used to get 50-50 lakh rupees every month for about two years. On Saturday, ED officers interrogated Kawasi for more than 10 hours in this connection. In this connection, ED raided Kawasi as Kawasi did not cooperate in the interrogation even after several summons given earlier. After today’s interrogation, some more officers along with other big leaders of Congress can come under the purview of ED.
