Deputy Chief Minister, TS Singhdeo met Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Sindhi in Delhi the other day and held a special discussion regarding the airports of Ambikapur and Bilaspur. Maa Mahamaya Airport located at Darima, Surguja was earlier directed by DGCA to fulfill the criteria of 67 points and the action is almost complete after which inspection is to be done.
Singhdeo in a tweet stated that the Union Minister has assured that after the submission of this report in the ministry and its disposal, the process of inspection of airport license and commercial flight service will be completed. Along with this, it was also urged to provide direct air services to Ambikapur from Raipur, Banaras, Ranchi and Delhi. In the recent cabinet meeting regarding Bilaspur airport, there was a discussion about taking back the land given to the army and using it for the expansion of Bilaspur airport. Requested the Honorable Minister to provide cooperation in the expansion project of Bilaspur Airport. I am sure that with the coordination of the State and the Centre, the works of these two airports in the state will be completed soon, tweeted the Deputy Chief Minister.
