Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s most expensive vegetable ‘Boda’ has reached Bastar market. As soon as the monsoon arrives, Boda start coming out of the forest. As delicious as this vegetable is to eat, its price is equally high. This vegetable, which is available only in the market of Bastar, is being sold for 3 to 4 thousand rupees per kg. People in large numbers throngs to buy it. Boda’s speciality is that it is available only during the monsoon. It’s also considered very beneficial for health.
It may be mentioned that Boda is a species of vegetable mushroom. This vegetable is produced in the soil under the ground. It starts coming in the markets after the initial 2-3 rains. Not only Bastar, but people of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Maharashtra are also crazy about this vegetable. They reach to buy vegetables from Bastar district adjacent to their respective states.
It is reported that the demand for Boda is very high this year as compared to last year. Currently available in the market at 3 to 4 thousand per kg. But, in the coming days its price will be more than 5 thousand. The special thing is that no resources are used to grow this vegetable. It is a natural vegetable, which grows on its own during the rainy season. At present, this vegetable is available in the markets of Jagdalpur, Gidam, Bijapur, the divisional headquarters.
