The encroachers of village Irchradi under Tiger Reserve damaged government vehicles, lashed out at the forest staff.

65 encroachers allegedly accused of occupying more than 200 hectares of forest land and cutting 50,000 trees.

Gariaband: Today, the entire staff of the forest department, who went to free the forest land, were seen running away to save their lives from the encroachers. About 65 people have been accused of encroaching more than 200 hectares of forest land and cutting 50,000 trees near Irchradi village of Tiger Reserve. The administration has launched an anti-encroachment drive against the encroachers in the district.

Meanwhile, the encroachers attacked the officials of the forest department. They attacked the officers with sticks and also damaged government vehicles. It may be mentioned that the Forest Department team has been continuously taking action against the encroachers. It’s reported that the encroachers completely destroyed the vehicles of the forest department officials.

According to information, on May 26, the sanctuary administration evicted encroachers by running bulldozers on 65 houses. After the action the illegal occupants started living under the trees in temporary tents. When the authorities of forest department reached to clear the encroachment, the villagers attacked the officers and damaged their vehicles. The whole incident has been reported from village Irchradi under Tiger Reserve. In the village, 65 people have encroached upon more than 200 hectares of land and felled more than 50,000 trees.
