Two hard-core Naxalites surrendered before security forces..

Sukma: Two Naxalites, including one carrying a reward of Rs one lakh, surrendered before the security forces in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday.

Sukma district police officials said CNM commander Vetti Raja and militia member Rava Soma surrendered to the security forces today.

Surrendered Naxalite Raja carried a reward of one lakh rupees on his head. Police officials said that the Naxalites, influenced by the Poona Narkom campaign (New Morning, New Beginning) and fed up with the discriminatory behavior of the Maoist leaders, have decided to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream of the society. He further informed that both Naxalites are accused of being involved in many Naxal incidents in the district. Surrendered Naxalites will be provided assistance under the rehabilitation policy of the state government, said the police.
