Sukma: Security forces have killed 16 Maoists in an encounter in Naxal-affected Sukma district. Two soldiers were injured in this incident. Police officials gave this information on Saturday. According to the information received, on the information of the presence of Maoists in Keralapal police station area, a joint team of Sukma District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was sent on anti-Naxal operation on Friday.
Police officials said that during the operation, there were intermittent encounters between security forces and Maoists since this morning. Security forces have so far recovered the bodies of 16 Maoists from the spot. Two soldiers have been injured in this incident.
They said that the search operation by the security forces is going on in the encounter site and surrounding areas. Automatic weapons like INSAS, SLR have also been recovered, from this it is clear that some of the killed Naxalites are also big cadres.
