Sukma: In the much discussed case, the Sukma court has acquitted the leader of the police family demands, Ujjwal Dewan. It is worth noting that in 2021-2022, under the leadership of Ujjwal Dewan, thousands of families of policemen took to the streets with their demands. Then the then Bhupesh government constituted a committee on 08/12/2021 to persuade the police family and meet their demands. Then the people of the police family had given 1 month’s time to the Congress government to meet the demands. During the same time, on 10 January 2022, a joint police family conference was organized at Ravan Bhata ground in Raipur under the leadership of Ujjwal Dewan, in which 40000-50000 people from all over Chhattisgarh state had come to Raipur to participate. Then, to prevent the conference from taking place, in the intervening night of 09-10/01/2022, Raipur Police arrested Ujjwal Dewan from his house and sent him to jail under 151, 107, 116 (3) CrPC by making a false case and by hatching a conspiracy, on 10-11 January 2022, by making a false police sedition and treason section, by making a fabricated story and registering a false FIR in 4 different districts’ police stations Sukma, Bijapur, Narayanpur and Tikrapara Raipur, by calling Ujjwal Dewan more dangerous than a dreaded and dreaded terrorist, he could not meet his family or any other person and to suppress the demands of the police family, he was kept in 5 jails for 11 months. He was kept in different jails Raipur, Korba, Ramanujganj, Jagdalpur and Sukma and finally in November 2022, after 11 months, Ujjwal Dewan was released on bail from Sukma jail by order of the Hon’ble High Court Bilaspur.
Against this wrong action, the people of the police family in every district of Chhattisgarh had protested against the Congress government for the release of Ujjwal Dewan and had given a memorandum to the government. The big leaders of the opposition of that time, i.e. Bharatiya Janata Party, also strongly opposed the wrongful arrest of Ujjwal Dewan, due to which the then Congress government was greatly criticized all over India, but the government of Bhupesh Baghel, intoxicated with power, did not listen to anyone and forcibly kept the innocent Ujjwal Dewan in jail. But when the case was heard in the Honorable Sukma Court, then the court acquitted Ujjwal Dewan after closely studying all the evidence presented by Ujjwal Dewan and examining all the aspects of the case.
When asked by our correspondent about the victory in the case, Ujjwal Dewan said that justice has won and he has full faith in the judiciary. Truth can be troubled but it cannot be defeated, truth is sure to win. Now we will continue the fight for the demands of the joint police family with even more enthusiasm and zeal. When asked about the policemen who filed false cases, Ujjwal Dewan said that the police is an independent institution serving the public. The police should not ruin the lives of innocents under the pressure of any leader or officer and the police should discharge its responsibilities impartially and with full honesty.
