Livelihood Schemes of the Livestock Development Department proves blessings in disguise…..

Book on 4 years achievement of the department released.

Sukma: If there is talk of Livestock Development Department in the state of Chhattisgarh, it’s credit goes to senior officer Dr. S Zaharuddin, who is currently posted as Deputy Director in Livestock Development Department, Sukma. During his tenure, there has been excellent performance of the department, a glimpse of which was seen in the inauguration and exhibition program of various development works at Sukma’s Ministadium.

Minister of Commerce, Industry and Excise, Kawasi Lakhma visited the exhibition program of various development works organized by the Livestock Development Department. Exhibition of products prepared by self-help groups like Kadaknath chickens reared by women were put on display. The minister apprised himself with
necessary information after discussing about the quantity, sale and income of eggs produced from poultry farming from the women of self-help groups benefited by layer and Kadaknath poultry farming.



At the outset 50 units of backyard chicks, 50 forest rights lease were given to beneficiaries of Rajamunda village under development block-Chhindgarh. Similarly, under Backyard Poultry Farming Scheme Rs 4000 to 12 beneficiaries and 3500 rupees to 3 beneficiaries; 18000 rupees to 3 beneficiaries were provided grant under male goat distribution and Madavats rearing scheme. Besides the loan cheque amounting Rs. 20,40,000.00 (twenty lakh forty thousand) were distributed to 16 beneficiaries for milch cattle rearing under KCC scheme.
In the exhibition departmental schemes were displayed through flex.

Shabri milk, curd, ghee, khowa, and other Shabri milk products manufactured in Shabri Dugdh Sagar (Milk Processing Plant) operated with the efforts of the District Administration and Livestock Development Department were displayed at the exhibition.

At the outset Dr. S Azharuddin, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry department Sukma gifted products of Shabari Dugdh Sagar to Minister Kawasi Lakhma; members of the steering committee of Shabri Dugdh Sagar Center, members of Chhattisgarh State Animal Welfare Board, Karan Singh Dev and Collector, Harish S.


Finally minister Kawasi Lakhma and Karan Singh Dev released book containing report of the achievements of 4 years of the Livestock Development Department of District Sukma.
Present on the occasion were Harish Kawasi, President District Panchayat, Boddu Raja, Vice President District Panchayat, Rajesh Nara, Member of Yoga Commission, Raju Sahu, Chairman Municipal Council and large number of people from the district.
