Jagdalpur: 10 hard-core Maoists have been arrested on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. This includes 5 Naxalites from Bijapur district. A tractor cordex wire and about 500 detonators have also been recovered from them by Bhadradi Kottagudem police.
Police informed that large quantity of explosives, recovered from the Naxals, were reportedly being taken to hand it over to the big Naxalite leaders. Besides they were planning for a big attack.
Telangana Police had received information from an informer that members of the Naxalite organization were present in a hideout in Mulakanapalli and Dumugudem mandals with a huge amount of explosives. After which the Bhadradi Kottagudem police formed a team consisting of personnel from Dumugudem and CRPF’s 141st Battalion and rushed to the spot.
Police further informed that 10 suspects were caught by conducting a search operation in the villages of the area and the forest adjacent to it. A Bolero vehicle and two bikes were also recovered during the search. 10 Maoists were arrested along with about 90 bundles of cordex wire, 500 detonators and other explosives were recovered from a tractor.
Out of 10 Maoists, 5 are from Telangana and 5 from Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. They were working for the Naxalite organization for the last several years. Similar anti-naxal operations will continue in future also, said the Police.
