News Edition 24 Desk: Raipur: Chhattisgarh is such a , where people with COVID symptoms are tested and provided medicines free of cost. For prevention and control of COVID-19 infection, Mitanins are going door-to-door in villages to identify the people with COVID symptoms and to provide them medicines free of cost. This initiative of State Government is yielding positive results. The number of serious COVID patients in the state has significantly declined while recovery rate has noticeably improved, said Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel.
Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel today addressed the virtual meeting of SDOs, Revenue, Police and Block Medical Officers of Bilaspur and Sarguja division.
In the meeting Baghel said that he is satisfied with the efforts and dedication of the officials at district, tehsil, block and village level towards implementation of government’s guidelines for COVID prevention. This is the reason why Chhattisgarh is gradually coming out of the COVID crisis. He added that it is a long battle to save humanity; we will have to make strategic consistent and collective efforts to win this battle.
Chief Minister further said that the precautions and measures being taken at local-level are extremely important. Compared to other states, situation of hospital bed, medicines, ICU and oxygen etc is satisfactory in Chhattisgarh. Number of beds in the COVID care centers is continuously being increased at tehsil, block and state-level. Chief Minister said that in rural areas, COVID cases have increased because of the wedding ceremonies and other gatherings. It is important to keep a check on people coming from outside. Mitanins, Kotvars, aanganbadi workers, teachers, patwaris and others should be engaged to do the monitoring of people coming from adjacent village or even state. Those coming from outside should be tested and accommodated at the Quarantine Center.
Chief Minister directed the officers to specifically monitor the mining areas of Korba and Raigarh district to control corona infection. Baghel has directed the officials to contact the Registered Medical Practitioner in rural areas and advise them to treat patients with cough-cold and initial COVID like symptoms as per the COVID protocol, as delay in the treatment can worsen a COVID patient’s situation. Chief Minister appreciated the officers for implementing COVID protocol in containment zone during the lockdown, under these challenging circumstances. He said that there have been no serious complaints in this regard. He advised the officers to take care of their own health and safety as well.
The meeting was also addressed by Home Minister, Tamradhwaj Sahu; Revenue Minister, Jaisingh Agrawal, who emphasized on creating public awareness about COVID-19 disease, treatment and vaccineation. At the onset, Chief Minister took information about the health condition of patients in COVID care centers, availability of bed and medicines, distribution of COVID kits from SDM, SDOP, Tehsildar, BMO and thanedars of 22 Sub-Divisions under both the divisions.
