Decision to stop vaccination of 18-44 age group is contempt of High Court and cheating the youth of the state- Amit Jogi.

Chhattisgarh will not be allowed to change from ‘rice bowl’ to ‘begging bowl’ at any cost.

When the Jogi government could buy farmers’ paddy on its own, why can’t the Bhupesh government vaccinate the youth?

Raipur: Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) State President, Amit Ajit Jogi has termed the Chhattisgarh government’s decision to stop vaccination for 18-44 age group as contempt of High Court and cheating the youths of the state.

Amit Jogi said that in the public interest litigation petition filed by him, the intention of the High Court was to vaccinate the economically weaker people as well as all the rest because all the citizens of the country have the same means of living. The Government of Chhattisgarh has tried to show the High Court as a villain in front of the public, which is a direct contempt of the court. He also demanded the High Court to take criminal contempt proceedings against the government.

Amit Jogi said that his party will not allow Chhattisgarh to convert paddy bowl to begging bowl at any cost. In this context, he recalled that in 2001, when the then Prime Minister refused to buy paddy from the farmers of Chhattisgarh, the then Chief Minister Late Shri Ajit Jogi had started a new history in the country by starting buying paddy on his own.

Amit Jogi said that the policy and intention of the Chhattisgarh government in vaccination is flawed. The current government has a treasury of ₹ 1,25,000 crore as compared to the ₹ 4000 crore budget of the Jogi government that started purchasing paddy. By purchasing 1 / 4th part of their liquor earnings of only one year- ₹ 900 crores for 3 crore doses- outright vaccine- 1.51 crores youth of all sections of the state can easily vaccinate without any discrimination.

Amit Jogi questioned that when the Chief Minister can spend trillions in Assam elections at the behest of his party leaders in Delhi and send UP to Oxygen from the state, then why not buy life-saving vaccine supplements for the youth of Chhattisgarh ?

Amit Jogi said that by raising only ‘Modi Teeka Do’ slogans, the Government of Chhattisgarh cannot escape its responsibility towards the youth of the age group of 18-44, whereas the Government of India with its own resources has so far given 55 lakh vaccines to the 45+ people of the state.
