Sukma: During the public meeting organized at the stadium of village Chhindgarh on the one-day visit of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in Sukma district, three mobile medical unit vehicles for the development block were flagged off and inaugurated.

At the outset the Chief Minister reviewed the departmental achievements made by the Livestock Development Department of District Sukma in the last four years and other departmental stalls. Through the stall, various schemes run by the departments in the district and their progress were shown. On this occasion the Chief Minister encouraged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the government schemes by providing them with materials.



After observation and discussion with the beneficiaries, Mr. Baghel congratulated them inon getting additional income from Shabari Layer Poultry Farming run by Kalyani Mahila Group. Along with this, grant amount of Rs 93 thousand 240 per beneficiary was given to 05 beneficiaries under the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme, and demo cheque of Rs 4 thousand per beneficiary was given to 18 beneficiaries under the Male Goat Distribution Scheme. For poultry farming, RIR chicks were transported from Government Poultry Farming Area Jagdalpur and distributed to 40 beneficiaries.

Dr. S. Zaheeruddin, Deputy Director, Livestock Development Department, District Sukma said that the local people are being benefited by successfully running individual-oriented schemes in the district. He told that in Shabari Layer Farming Unit, 01 egg is obtained per day from layer hens of B.V.300 breed. Dr. S. Zaheeruddin presented a book to the Chief Minister on the achievements of animal conservation, promotion and successful implementation of departmental schemes done by the department in the last four years.

It is noteworthy that Kalyani women self-help group of village Kanjipani of development block Chhindgarh is producing eggs which help in good nutrition by doing Shabari layer farming. These eggs are being supplied as nutritious food mainly to the students and malnourished children studying in Ashram hostels. Through Kadaknath poultry farming, Shabari layer farming and natural cow dung paint manufacturing, the women of the self-help group are moving towards self-reliance and the children are also becoming free from malnutrition.

On this occasion, Industries Minister Kawasi Lakhma, District Panchayat President Harish Kawasi, Chhattisgarh State Animal Welfare Board member Karan Singh Dev, Chitrakot MLA Rajman Benjamin, Bijapur MLA Vikram Mandavi, public representatives and Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P, D. IG Kamlochan Kashyap, Collector Haris. S, Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan, other officers and staff were present.
