Acclaimed IAS Officer Amit Kataria Returns to Chhattisgarh…

Raipur:  Amit Kataria, a distinguished IAS officer from the 2004 batch of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has returned to the state after successfully completing a five-year central deputation. Upon his return, Kataria promptly resumed his duties at the Secretariat, where he met with Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Tuesday. Reliable sources indicate that Rajat Kumar, an IAS officer from the 2005 batch, is also set to return within the next two days. Following closely, Dr Rohit Yadav, an IAS officer from the 2002 batch, is expected to rejoin soon after.

In a significant accolade for Chhattisgarh, Kataria is set to be honoured with the prestigious E-Governance Award for 2024. The 27th National E-Governance Awards will be conferred in Mumbai on 3-4 September, where Kataria will be recognised for his pioneering work in developing an online system for field monitoring and inspection management in the Rural Development Department. This innovative system, which Kataria spearheaded during his tenure as Joint Secretary in the Rural Development Department, has garnered national attention. He will be among 16 officers across the country to receive this esteemed honour.

This development underscores Kataria’s enduring contribution to governance and his commitment to leveraging technology for rural development, setting a high standard for public administration in Chhattisgarh and beyond.
