CM Baghel dedicated development works worth Rs 303 crore to Sukma district…

Sukma: In the last four years, several development works have been done in Sukma district. Infrastructure like education, health, roads along with security system have been strengthened in the district. Earlier, there was apprehension in the minds of people about going to Sukma late at night. Now people travel freely, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on the occasion of inauguration-Bhumi Pujan program of Rs 303 crore virtually in Sukma district.

At the outset Chief Minister said that the first assembly on entering Chhattisgarh from South India is Konta of Sukma district. With the cooperation of everyone here, we made plans for the development of Sukma district and implemented it. There has been a big change here in these years and people can feel it by reaching here. “We have improved security and started school again after 13 years in Jagargunda.


It may be mentioned that on this occasion, the Chief Minister dedicated 131 development and construction works worth Rs. 303.67 crore. This included 33 development works costing more than 64 crores and 98 other development and construction works worth more than 240 crores.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that he wanted to meet people physically, but due to heavy rains, it was not possible. Apologizing for it the CM said he was satisfied connect with the people virtually. The best thing is that it is raining and it is very useful for our region, he added.

The Chief Minister further said that during ‘Bhet Mulakat’ program decisions were taken on the demands placed by Minister Kawasi Lakhma for development works in Sukma district and solid foundation of infrastructure has been laid here. Today, major works related to education, health and infrastructure have been inaugurated-Bhoomi Pujan has also been done. He said that the government is initiating measures for averall development of Bastar. Be it the recruitment of Bastar fighters or fair rates for Tendupatta collectors, the government is leaving no stone unturned, said Bhupesh Baghel.

Bastar region witnessed sea change of development works during four and a half years of Bhupesh Baghel government.
On this occasion, Excise and Industries Minister Kawasi Lakhma said that major works have been done for infrastructure development in the state during the four and a half years under the leadership of the Chief Minister. He not only waived the loans and gave fair price to the farmers for paddy but also decided to buy 20 quintals of paddy per acre. Tendupatta worth Rs 50 crore 27 lakh has been collected in Sukma district this year, which has benefited the forest dwellers.
Member of Parliament, Deepak Baij also spoke on the occasion. Present on the occasion were Jila Panchayat President, Harish Kawasi; Municipality President, Raju Sahu and large number of Congressmen from the district.
