Raipur: In the first tribal national sports competition held in Bhubaneswar, Chhattisgarh players bagged 15 medals including 1 gold, 6 silver, 8 bronze. In the competition, the 18 states players demonstrated their talent and sports skills. Chhattisgarh players won the bronze medal and silver in 100 meters and 50 meters swimming competition.


In football Chhattisgarh girls proved their mettle by winning the gold medal. The hero of this big victory was Kiran Pisda, a practicing player at Girls Football Academy of Raipur. Kho-Kho girls team and Kabaddi girls team won bronze medals. Tania won bronze medal in high jump, Manish Mandvi won silver medal in 5000 meter race men, Tarnika Teta of Bahtarai Residential Sports Academy, Bilaspur won silver medal in 100 meter race and bronze medal in long jump. Pramila Mandvi won silver medal in 5000 meter race girls.


In archery, Kuber Singh Jagat of Bilaspur’s Bahatrai Residential Sports Academy won silver medal in individual 30 meters and silver medal in individual overall. Kuber Singh and Bundeshwari Maravi won the bronze medal in the mixed event. Similarly in archery, the girl team won bronze medal and the boy archery team won silver medal. On this achievement, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Umesh Patel congratulated the players for their good performance and wished them a bright future.
