Today we are going to tell you about one such village in Rajasthan, where a unique stone is found and curd is made from milk from this stone. The yellow stone of Swarnanagari, a tourist destination of Jaisalmer, has now made a different identity in the whole world.

This unique stone is found in Haburgaon, located about 50 km from Jaisalmer, which is famous for its miraculous properties. This stone freezes the milk and turns it into curd. We add some buttermilk to the milk to turn it into curd. But the people of this village of Rajasthan have their different way. People here have been using this stone for hundreds of years to make curd from milk.

The name of this village was Habur but at present, it is known as Poonamnagar. The stone is also called ‘Haburia Bhata’ in the local language. On coming in contact with it, the milk turns into curd. The tourists who come here also take utensils made of Habur stone with them.


According to some research, the chemical that converts milk into curd is present in this stone. Amino Acids, Phenyl Alinia, Riftafen Tyrosine are present in this stone. From this, the milk turns into curd. Apart from this, the curd made from this stone is sweet and fragrant.
