Dantewada: Officials claimed on Tuesday that three Naxals were detained and two others surrendered to police in the Dantewada and Bijapur districts of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division. Two of the three Naxals were arrested in Bijapur, while the third was nabbed in the Dantewada area, police said.
“A Maoist identified as Linga Mandavi (25), who was carrying a Rs 10,000 bounty on his head, was captured on Monday by a joint team of DRG (District Reserve Guards) and the District Force from Badegudra hamlet inside the Kuakonda police station boundaries,” according to the statement. Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said. Mandavi was active as a Naxal Militia member in Badegudra, he added.
