News Edition 24 Desk: Raipur: Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) supremo, the most senior female legislator of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dr. Renu Jogi said that we are all facing corona virus as the biggest epidemic after independence. Due to which health facilities across the country have been severely crushed. At such a time, the three-year-old doctor system introduced by former Chief Minister late Ajit Jogi in remote rural forest area of Chhattisgarh, especially in Surguja and Bastar divisions, is firmly in front and is providing services to the villagers, poor and tribals. They are known as Jogi doctors.
Dr. Renu Jogi said that during the then Jogi regime, former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi made a three-year medical course of PMHM (Practitioner in Modern Holistic And Medicine) to overcome the shortage of doctors in rural and forest areas of Chhattisgarh, where mostly MBBS doctors do not go to practice. The village was started with the aim of providing health services to the poor, villagers and tribals till the last person of the last line of society. In which hundreds of people have completed the course and are strongly handling the rural health system today and are providing services to the people in the corona epidemic, which is the backbone of the rural-forest health system.
Dr. Renu Jogi said that as soon as the Jogi government changed in the state, the BJP government stopped this course which was a blight to the villagers, otherwise thousands of doctors would become doctors in Chhattisgarh and the situation in Chhattisgarh would be better.
Dr. Renu Jogi said that to overcome the shortage of doctors in the country, he wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan to implement the three-year medical curriculum of the Jogi formula and said that the second wave of Corona has killed millions of people across the country. Millions of people are suffering. This virus has come out of the cities and has now reached the village, fearing a third wave from above is also haunting people. In such a situation there is a need to strengthen the health system. In particular, large areas of the country, rural and forest areas will have to focus and the Jogi formula should be implemented to overcome the shortage of doctors there.
Dr. Renu Jogi said that it may be known that the previous Central Government had instructed all the states to implement the formula for three-year medical course of Chhattisgarh, the Union Ministry of Health had also prepared the syllabus. This course was a copy of the three-year medical course of Chhattisgarh, according to experts, there was little alteration in the course. The course was renamed as Bachelor of Community Medicine, after getting the green signal from the center, the then BJP government in Chhattisgarh was once again preparing to become a doctor of the Jogi formula. The state government had prepared a proposal to open five colleges in the state, but due to the apathy and willpower of the state governments, this course was not implemented, the result of which is being enjoyed by the people of the country.
