Raipur: Health Minister TS Singhdev on Thursday joined the virtual meeting from the residence of Civil Lines and addressed departmental officers and public representatives in the inaugural program of Virology Lab in Korba district. In this meeting, he thanked all those involved in the construction of virology lab and said that in the past, samples were sent from Korba district to Bilaspur, due to which the infected patients were delayed in getting the report of the investigation. Today, due to the virology lab being built in Korba, the residents will soon get RT-PCR report which will help in detecting infection and contact tracing.
Singhdev said that the government has decided that virology labs will be set up in all medical colleges. In this direction, it has been decided that 7 more virology labs will be set up in the coming days through the Chhattisgarh Government Health Department, targeted at Jashpur, Champa-Janjgir, Baloda Bazar, Durg, Dantewada, Balod and Mungeli respectively. He further said that having an automated lab will have the ability to do more tests per day, along with that it will start doing 1000 tests per day as soon as possible and then there will be a need to increase this number so that in the coming time it will be helpful in the quality of all the labs tests.
