This weekend, Indian Idol Season 12, will welcome music director and singer Amit Kumar, who’ll be gracing the sets as the chief guest for the upcoming special episode dedicated to his father, the legendary Kishore Kumar. However, the highlight of the upcoming episode is touted to be Pawandeep’s rousing performance on a trio of Kishoreda songs, which leaves everyone mesmerised and prompts Amit Kumar, to gift him the legendary singer’s watch as a gift, which he had worm till date.

Pawandeep Rajan STUNS everyone

Crowd-favourite Pawandeep Rajan enthralled one and all with his performance on the songs Dilbar Mere, Mere Dil Mein Aaj Kya Hai and Kora Kaagaz Tha Mann Mera, eliciting a standing ovation with fantastic reviews from all the judges.

What Anu Malik said

Highly impressed by Pawandeep’s voice, Anu Malik reminisced an unknown trivia about him and Kishore Kumar, where he said, “I and Kishoreda were going to record a song together. During those days, to get time from such a big legend was a blessing and thankfully, I received that time from him. On the day of recording, I had called him to make remind him about the same. Later, when I was walking past his house in Juhu I found a lot of people gathered, which left me shocked and I walked home and informed my wife, ‘I think that the legendary Kishore Kumarji is no more with us.’”

What Amit Kumar said

Effusing praise on Pawandeep’s performance while gifting the young singer his father’s watch, Amit Kumar said, “Your current performance was the distinguishing factor between a great singer and a remarkable singer. You have touched my heart when you sang the song, Kora Kagaz. It reminded me of the sounds of the pahadi effect in your voice. I am so impressed by you that today, I’d like to gift you a watch that was given to me by my father, the legendary Kishore Kumarji when my good time in my career had begun.”
