Timely diagnosis and medication of symptomatic COVID patients is helping in containment of the infection.

Chief Minister took information about the COVID situation in villages from mitanins and health workers of Sarguja and Bilaspur Divisions

News Edition 24 Desk: Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has praised the dedication and efforts of mitanins and rural health workers in Chhattisgarh during this COVID crisis. Chief Minister said that doctors and nurses are like the God-sent angels, who are working tirelessly to save lives of people. Chief Minister today spoke to the mitanins and rural health workers via video conferencing. He asked them about their health and wellbeing. Mr. Baghel asked the mitanins and health-workers about the patients and the overall COVID situation in their villages. On the occasion, Chief Secretary, Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary, Subrat Sahu, Chief Minister’s Advisor, Siddhartha Komal Pardeshi.

While addressing the mitanins and healthworkers during the conference, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the significant decline in the number of critical COVID patients and speedy recovery of mild and moderately infected patients is the result of your hard work and perseverance. Availability of hospitals, treatments, medicines, oxygen beds, ICU, ventilator etc has also improved noticeably. Especially in Raipur and Bilaspur, the number of critical COVID patients has decreased. Timely diagnosis and medication has been the key to improve the overall COVID situation in the state.


Chief Minister further said that timely availability of COVID medicine kits save the symptomatic patients from critical stage of the disease. This helps in maintaining their oxygen level and also saves them the trip to the hospital. If an infected person keeps his illness a secret, delays medication, then the infection can increase and create further health complications. And once a COVID patient reaches the critical stage, it becomes extremely difficult to save his/her life. Chief Minister directed the mitanins and health workers to regularly monitor the health condition of people in their respective villages and educate them about the precautions required to prevent the infection.

Chief Minister, Baghel said that this pandemic is posing as a threat to the entire nation and the world. There has been shortage of hospital, treatment, medicine and oxygen in major cities of the nation, but Chhattisgarh state has this situation under control at present. He extended his best wishes to the frontline warriors and expressed hope that this pandemic would be over soon and we would win this battle against COVID-19.
At the onset, Chief Minister, Baghel interacted with the mitanins and health workers from various villages in Sarguja, Balrampur, Surajpur, Kota of Bilaspur district and Kartala of Korba district, Pendra, Mungeli of Gaurela-Pendra Marwahi district, Janjgir-Champa district, Baramkela and Tamnaar block of Raigarh district and asked them about the number of COVID patients in their village. Mr. Baghel enquired about the recovery status of the patients. Mr. Baghel reviewed the COVID medicine kits distribution work and directed the mitanins to ensure that the patients get their checkup done in the nearest health centres, other than taking their medicines.

Smt Padmavati, Mitanin of Mahua Tikra, Surguja, said 15 corona infected people in 65 houses in their area have been provided free medicine kits. Mobile numbers of all the patients in home-isolation has been taken and recorded. Physicians are regularly speaking to these home-isolated patients and monitoring their health condition. Presently, all the patients are normal. Mrs Dhaneshwari, Mitanin of Bhindra Khurd, said that two out of 7 corona patients in her area have recovered. 5 are taking medicines while staying in homeIsolation. Health worker of the Bhatkhari sector said that 19 corona patients, their families and all those who came in primary contact with them have been identified and given medicines as well as counseling. All these people are in home isolation and their health condition has been reported to be normal. Smt Khileshwari Jangade, a Mitanan of Puraba Panchayat in Surajpur district and health worker Sheesh Kumar Gupta, gave information about the treatment and recovery of the COVID patients in their area. Mitani Smt. Uma Kashyap of Kunwari fleet of Kota block in Bilaspur district and Smt. Rajni Markam, Mitannin of Navalpur told that they have been provided with the oximeter by the administration, using which they regularly monitor the SPO2 level and pulse rate of COVID-patients in home isolation. Chief Minister Baghel advised the mitanins and health workers to take care of their own health as well, and advised them take proper precautions while serving the patients.
