Dhebar’s threat to SSP: If FIR is not withdrawn, I will commit suicide….

Raipur: An FIR has been registered against Mayor Ejaz Dhebar at Civil Lines police station on charges of misbehaving with the police during the assembly siege. In this case, Mayor Dhebar met Raipur SSP and demanded to register an FIR against 25000 people involved in the protest or to cancel the FIR registered against him. The mayor also threatened to commit suicide if his demand was not met.

In fact, on July 24, Congress workers tried to surround the assembly without permission on various issues against the government. During this, the road was blocked near Sahu Furniture Barricading No. 2 Assembly. According to the FIR, Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Ashish Dwivedi and other activists abused, jostled and assaulted the police force deployed on duty. Due to this incident, a report has been filed for obstruction in government work.

Demands of the Mayor and threat of suicide

Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, during his meeting with Raipur SSP, also demanded registration of FIR against all 25000 people involved in the protest. He also said that if the FIR registered against him is not nullified, he will commit suicide. Former MLA Vikas Upadhyay, MIC members and many activists were also present during this meeting.

Police response

The Civil Lines police station has started immediate action considering the seriousness of the matter. Police said that a detailed investigation of the incident is being done and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

This incident has created a stir in political circles. Congress leaders have issued statements in support of the mayor, while opposition parties have described it as a symbol of the serious law and order situation.
