Zero tolerance for negligence in health centers: CM Sai…

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has stressed the importance of maintaining strict vigilance in health centers to prevent diarrhoea and malaria, which are prevalent during the rainy season. He has directed ensuring adequate storage of life-saving medicines in health centers and their prompt availability to patients as needed.

In complaince with the Chief Minister’s instructions, Janjgir-Champa Collector Akash Chhikara conducted a video conference meeting today with district-level and block-level officers to discuss strategies for preventing diarrhoea in the district. During the meeting, he instructed officers to conduct extensive public awareness campaigns. He emphasized conducting ‘Munadi’ announcements through village Kotwars, organizing awareness drives in Anganwadi centres and schools, and ensuring active field engagement by all officers concerned.

The Collector stressed the importance of encouraging villagers to consume boiled water, and distributing ORS and zinc tablets. He highlighted the need for regular monitoring of diarrhoea patients, with immediate referral to higher centres in case of severe cases. He mentioned that Mitanins have been instructed to conduct daily door-to-door surveys for the next 15 days in villages where diarrhoea cases are reported, to collect patient information.

Addressing health staff, he directed for prompt action when a diarrhoea patient visits any health centre. Specifically, the Sector Supervisor, RHO, and Mitanin of the patient’s village should promptly visit households and inform the concerned officer without delay. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of negligence in health centres. District Magistrate and all officials and employees of the departments concerned were present during the meeting.
