Another accuse in Jaggi murder case Yahya Dhebar surrenders in court..

Raipur:  Another accused in NCP leader Ramavatar Jaggi murder case Yahya Dhebar surrendered in special court on Tuesday. In the Jaggi murder case, the High Court had upheld the sentence of all the accused. After which Yahya Dhebar took three weeks relief through the Supreme Court. Yahya Dhebar is the brother of Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar.

The Supreme Court had given three weeks extra time to RC Trivedi, VK Pandey, Amrik Singh Gill, Suryakant Tiwari and Yahya Dhebar, the accused in the case, to surrender. At the same time, two shooters Vinod Singh Rathore and Chiman Singh surrendered in the court of special judge on April 15. Jaggi murder case was the first political murder in Chhattisgarh.

On April 4, the High Court had upheld the sentence

It is noteworthy that on April 4, a big decision came from the High Court in the NCP leader Ramavtar Jaggi murder case. Where the High Court rejected the appeal and upheld the life imprisonment sentence of 28 accused. The division bench of High Court Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Arvind Verma has upheld the life imprisonment sentence of all 28 accused. Those sentenced to life imprisonment include two then CSPs and a then police station in-charge, besides Yahya Dhebar and shooter Chiman Singh.

Ramavtar Jaggi was murdered on the night of June 4, 2003

The NCP leader was shot dead in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, on the night of June 4, 2003. A total of 31 accused were made in this murder case, out of which two Bulthu Pathak and Surendra Singh became government witnesses. Except one Amit Jogi, the rest 28 people were sentenced. After this, the accused filed an appeal in the High Court and challenged the decision of the lower court.
