Raipur: ED has taken major action in the custom milling scam and detained former special secretary of food department and Markfed MD Manoj Soni. It is said that Manoj Soni had reached EOW to give a statement in the custom milling scam of 175 crores. During the interrogation, ED team suddenly arrived and took Manoj Soni away in a car. There is no information whether ED has arrested Manoj after taking him into custody or has detained him only for questioning. It is possible that ED may issue a statement in this regard.
Earlier, EOW has intensified the investigation in the custom milling scam. Roshan Chandrakar, the alleged mastermind of the scam of thousands of crores, was questioned yesterday and today former special secretary of food department and BSNL officer Manoj Soni has been summoned by EOW for questioning. Manoj Soni has also been the MD of Markfed.
A case is also registered against Manoj Soni in EOW. ED has also raided Soni’s places twice. EOW has also filed a case in this custom milling scam. It includes the names of many officers, Congress leaders and rice millers including Manoj Soni, Roshan Chandrakar.
