Sukma:  Under the National Pulse Polio Campaign, polio doses were administered to children of the target age group in various booths on March 03.  During this time, after receiving information about giving ice packs instead of polio drops in the Maoist-affected inner village of the district, Almagunda, BMO Konta immediately sent a medical team from Primary Health Center Chintagufa and got all the children sanitized and health check-up done.

On this occasion, the said medical team examined the health of all the children and kept them under close observation and administered polio drops to all 40 children in the afternoon.  Besides, the health workers of the concerned area were asked to monitor the health of the children.

Collector S  Haris on Monday said that a medical team was again sent to Almaguda under the leadership of BMO Konta.  Along with re-examining the health of these children, they also administered polio drops to the children who had missed the polio drop dose in the said area.  The Collector has instructed the Chief Medical and Health Officer to investigate the incident as soon as possible and has given instructions to take disciplinary action against the concerned medical officer and other employees who were negligent.
