Raipur: To ensure safety of women and school children Chhattisgarh government is initiating measures to install panic buttons in passenger buses and school buses. In case of any accident or tampering in the bus the panic button will inform the control room. Along with this, the location, speed etc. of the buses will also be known. It will stop and help in reducing arbitrariness of the drivers and possibility of accident. The control room of the GPS system has been made in the office of Dial 112.
According to the information received from the Transport Department of Chhattisgarh, with the introduction of this system, the public will be facilitated in dealing with any kind of danger and untoward incident. At present, a total of 12 thousand buses are operating in the state, which are going to every corner of the state through different routes. Similarly, about 6000 school buses are also operating in the state. With the installation of panic button and GPS in the buses, you will get instant information about the buses.
It may be mentioned that according to the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in the state, under the guidance of Transport Minister Mohammad Akbar, keeping in mind the public convenience, continuous efforts are being made by the department for smooth traffic arrangements. In this regard, the officials of the Transport Department told that under the new system, the route of the school bus will also be mapped so that if the school bus carrying children goes somewhere other than the prescribed route, an automatic alert will come. For this, the duty of four employees will be assigned according to the shift in the control room, who will continuously monitor all the buses and will inform the police department in case of emergency.
