Sukma: Security forces have arrested a Maoist in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Sukma district, police officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, security forces arrested Naxalite Sodi Ganga (35) near Veerabhatti village of Bheji police station area of the district. Police further stated that the security forces were sent on patrol in Bheji police station area on Monday, when the team reached near Veerabhatti village, a suspicious person started running away after seeing the security forces. Later the security forces laid siege and caught him.
On interrogation the Maoist revealed his name as Sodi Ganga. Naxalite Ganga has been active in the area for the last 13 years. There is an allegation against him of involvement in several Naxalite incidents including attack on the police team, informed the police.
