Dantewada : Preliminary preparations have been started by the district administration for the upcoming assembly elections 2023 in the district. In this regard, a detailed review meeting was convened on Wednesday by Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale during her one day stay in the district.
In the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Kangale reviewed about 100 points in view of the preparations for the upcoming elections. In which she mentioned the number of voters, voter percentage in pre-election, total polling stations in urban and rural areas, keeping voter list updated, appointment of BLO sensitive and hypersensitive polling stations, necessary basic facilities like ramp, drinking water, electricity and toilets in polling stations. Electoral sex ratio FLC, EVM ware house, Special revision qualifying date, Special camp for induction of new voters of age 17 plus, Data entry of polling personnel, Helicopter required for transport of parties to inaccessible polling stations, Nodal officer training. Besides, she also gave necessary guidelines after discussing in detail the implementation of sweep activities including information of tribal voters, Divyang and third gender voters, IT infrastructure photo for election, constitution of sweep core committee, deletion in similar entry.
Giving information on the various points mentioned above, Collector, Vineet Nandanwar informed that 82 sensitive, 157 hypersensitive and 34 general polling stations have been marked in the district, as well as photos of all polling stations have been uploaded on the server after physical verification. Apart from this, 1 thousand 623 young voters of 17 plus age group have been registered through camps, as well as the names of 925 disabled people have been added to the voter list in the electoral roll. So far, 4 thousand 139 employees have been entered under data entry of polling personnel.
During the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Kangale said that in the case of photo duplication, the guidelines prescribed for deletion must be followed and physical verification must also be done. She further said that voter list should be updated and published regularly. So that the new voters can get the correct information. She also took information of new voters of 17 plus age, Divyang and third gender voters through special awareness campaign conducted in schools. Along with this, instructions were given for necessary training for the efficient operation of all the apps related to elections.
Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Tiwari, District Panchayat CEO, Lalitaditya Neelam, Additional Collector, Sanjay Kannauje, SDM, Kumar Bishwaranjan, Joint Collector Surendra Thakur and other concerned officers of the district were present in the meeting.
