News Edition 24 Desk: New Delhi: The Nainital High Court has stayed the Uttarakhand Cabinet’s decision to start Chardham yatra including Badrinath, Kedarnath from July 1. The court directed the government to live streaming puja at Chardham. The court also rejected the affidavit filed by the government and asked it to file a reply again.
A bench of Chief Justice RS Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma on Monday heard a PIL filed by advocates Dushyant Manali, Sachchidanand Dabral, Anu Pant on health disorder and Chardham yatra preparations during the covid period.Chief Secretary Om Prakash and other officials appeared online in the court during the hearing. The Uttarakhand government has decided to start a Chardham yatra for devotees.
In a cabinet meeting led by CM Tirath Singh Rawat, residents of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Rudraprayag districts have been allowed to visit temples from July 01 in the first phase. People of Rudraprayag district will be able to visit Kedarnath Dham while passengers of Chamoli district have been allowed to visit Badrinath Dham. The people of Uttarkashi district have been allowed to visit Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams.
