Kolkata: BJP leader in West Bengal and Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari’s troubles are now compounded. In fact, he was recently booked for theft of relief material and now another case has come to light. In fact, now his colleague has been caught in a another scam. In fact, Kolkata police have arrested a person who is considered close to BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari for duping people in the name of getting jobs in the West Bengal irrigation department.
The case is said to have taken place last Saturday. Maniktala police arrested the accused Rakhal Bera last Saturday. Police said Bera along with others allegedly cheated a man of Rs 2 lakh by cheating him of a job in the state irrigation department. In this case, Kolkata Police has said that based on the complaint made by Sujit Dey, a resident of Ashoknagar in Kalyangarh, section 120B/2021 of IPC was registered at Maniktola police station on 27th February, 2021. A case was registered under 420/467/468/471.
In addition, police have also informed that Bera is accused of duping several people by cheating her to get a job in the irrigation department. Not only that, he has also been accused of financial fraud. Police said the accused Bera will now be produced before the court on Monday.
According to some sources, the police have started an investigation into corruption in the irrigation department and bera’s arrest is being considered as the first action in that direction. Police are now assuming that more information can be obtained by interrogating Bera, who is considered close to former irrigation minister of the state and now leader of opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari.
