Bengaluru: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi during a rally in Karnataka. He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is now contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli after fleeing from Amethi, he predicted that Rahul Gandhi will lose the election against the BJP there too. Amit Shah claimed that Sonia Gandhi’s attempt to launch Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli will fail.

Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Annasaheb Jolle from Chikkodi Lok Sabha constituency in Belgaum, Karnataka, Amit Shah said, ‘Modi ji tried and Chandrayaan was launched. Sonia Gandhi launched a vehicle named Rahul Baba (Rahul Gandhi) 20 times, but his launch is not being successful. Today, for the 21st time, he has fled from Amethi and filed nomination from Rae Bareli.’ Amit Shah said, ‘Rahul baba, I am announcing the result of Rae Bareli from here itself, you will lose the election by a huge margin against BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh.
Rae Bareli is a seat dominated by Gandhi family
Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Sonia Gandhi has been an MP from this seat for the last two decades. Rae Bareli seat is considered the traditional seat of the Gandhi family. Indira Gandhi and Feroze Gandhi were also elected MPs from Rae Bareli seat. Earlier there was talk of Rahul Gandhi contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha seat and Priyanka Gandhi from Rae Bareli seat, but in the list released on Friday, the party announced Rahul Gandhi’s name from Rae Bareli. In Amethi, Congress has fielded Kishori Lal Sharma. Voting will be held in Rae Bareli on May 20 in the fifth phase. Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Wayanad seat in Kerala, where voting has already taken place on April 26.
