Crackdown on BJP MLA who opened fire inside the police station, arrested…

Thane: Late Friday night in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, BJP MLA Ganesh Gaikwad allegedly shot Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad. The firing took place inside the cabin of a senior policeman at the Hill Line police station, where two politicians and their supporters had gathered to lodge a complaint over a long-standing land dispute. After this, the police immediately detained and arrested the accused MLA.

According to reports there was a dispute regarding land between BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad and Shiv Sena city chief Mahesh Gaikwad for a long time. Due to this dispute, both the leaders and their supporters gathered at Hill Line police station. Meanwhile, the debate between the two groups intensified and in the firing inside the police station, BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire on Shiv Sena Shinde group leader Mahesh Gaikwad.
In this firing, Mahesh Gaikwad and Shinde supporter Rahul Patil were badly injured and were immediately taken to Mira Hospital in Ulhasnagar at 11 pm for treatment, but after their condition became critical, both the leaders were shifted to Jupiter Hospital in Thane. If sources are to be believed, MLA Ganpat Gaikwad shot a total of four bullets at Mahesh.

Speaking to a news channel on phone, Ganesh Gaikwad said that whatever decision the court takes on the incident, he will accept it. He also made allegations of corruption against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and said that crimes have increased under the rule of the Shiv Sena chief. Gaikwad also alleged that Eknath Shinde would ‘betray’ the BJP.
