Sukma: Understanding the plight of farmers, Minister Kawasi Lakhma wrote letter to the Chief Minister to conduct survey in different areas under Sukma district for providing compensation to farmers facing drought situation.
There is a wave of happiness among all the farming families due to the announcement of increasing the support price and quantity of paddy procurement by the Chief Minister of the state, Bhupesh Baghel. The farmers of the underdeveloped areas are also benefited in making the unfit land fertile by doing farming with their hard work. No stone was left unturned and the result was 100% but due to unpredictable situation in the area, lack of adequate rains and inability to arrange water for the poor farmer families, they had to suffer huge losses.
Considering this, for the happiness and livelihood of the villages of Tehsil Sukma, Chhindgarh, Gadiras, Konta, Tongpal, Dornapal, Jagargunda under Sukma district, where the farmers had to face these problems, Minister Kawasi Lakhma wrote a letter to the Chief and Collector of the district and requested to conduct a survey of Kharif crops of Sukma district and provide compensation to all the farmers affected by drought.
District Congress General Secretary and spokesperson Raju Sahu said that the nature of Kawasi Lakhma is such that he considers the people of his area as his family and whenever any kind of calamity befalls the people of the area, he always comes forward. And this is the reason why the common people of Konta Assembly have been giving their blessings and support to Kawasi Lakhma. This time too, he will emerge victorious with thumping majority, said Sahu.
