Raipur: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma has said that the goal of development of Bastar cannot be achieved by laying landmines. If the Maoists are really in favor of the development and prosperity of Bastar, then they will have to leave the path of gunpowder and guns and believe in the democratic system. Today Bastar is bleeding due to the landmines laid by the Naxalites. They will have to leave the destruction and adopt the path of development. The Deputy Chief Minister was expressing concern over the incident of death of a laborer and injury of another due to ID blast in Bijapur. He assured proper treatment of the injured.
On 12th April, at around 12 noon, in Dumri Palanar village (about 17 km east of the police station) under the jurisdiction of Thana Gangalur in Bijapur district, Munna Bharti (age 52 years), a laborer engaged in culvert construction work from village Chhotedevda, Thana Bakawand, District Bastar, was seriously injured in an IED blast. He was being brought to Nelsnar Hospital for treatment, but died on the way. His post-mortem is being done in Nelsnar. In the above incident, one more laborer Dinesh Kashyap, father Amal Sai Kashyap, age 31 years, resident of Chhotedevda development block Bastar district Bastar, is suffering from hearing loss in the left ear. The laborer is being treated in Mirtur Hospital.
In a discussion with the media, he said that I am repeating again that IED does not recognize who is stepping on it, a large number of tribal brothers and cattle of Bastar are becoming its victims. Incidents of IED blasts are happening continuously, which is a matter of concern for the government as well as every person who cares about democratic values.
Naxalites will not gain anything through destruction
Home Minister Vijay Sharma further said that Naxalites will not gain anything through destruction. Naxalites should decide their role for development. This role is possible only by giving up the path of violence.
