Modi government is not well-wisher of poor, but only of industrialists: Radhika Khera…

Raipur :  All India Congress Committee spokesperson Radhika Khera on Monday said that the Narendra Modi government at the Center is not a well-wisher of tribals and poor, but only of industrialists.

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan here, Khera took a dig at the Prime Minister’s visit to Bastar and said that he remained silent on the issues of the tribals of Bastar. He called Prime Minister Modi’s speech ‘jumelbaazi’.

Kheda said, “Today Modi Ji came to the holy land of Chhattisgarh and on his arrival, our party’s state president Deepak Baij had challenged him three times that if he is truly a well-wisher of Bastar residents and tribals, then today Modi should declare that he will not privatize the Nagarnar Steel Plant and local people will be given priority for employment there.” He said, “The Raj Bhavan has kept the bill related to reservation for tribals on hold for a long time. The public was expecting that Modi would speak on this. Modi is getting lakhs of trees cut in Hasdeo Surguja for his friend Adani’s mine. He should announce to stop it.” He said, “But Modi left after giving only rhetorical slogans. He did not answer even a single basic problem of Bastar residents, the problems related to them. Modi maintained silence on all these matters. This shows that the Modi government is neither a well-wisher of the tribals nor a well-wisher of the poor. It is only a well-wisher of the industrialists.”
